Get Involved
Here is a list of ministries we have going on at the church. Where is God calling you to serve?...
GTO
(Girls Time Only) This ministry is a time for women of all ages to come together and fellowship together. We are called to be in unity with each other as followers of Christ, so let’s get to know each other and have a little fun! GTO meets as events arise. The contact person is Denise Beckler. |
PW
(Presbyterian Women) This long-standing ministry is part of a national network of women who gather in the name of Christ in the Presbyterian denomination. They study God’s word, fellowship, and address issues that are important to our church and community. They meet monthly or as the need arises. Juanita Coddington is the contact person. |
SIPs
(Sisters In Prayer) The SIPs are a group of women from our congregation, as well as other congregations in town, who study God’s word together and hold each other, the church, and our community up in prayer. They meet weekly on Tuesday evenings. The contact person is Shirley Lewis. |
Men’s Bible Study
Each Tuesday morning (early) a group of strapping, Godly men meet to study God’s word. I have heard they also have coffee and snacks, so you don’t want to miss this! Contact Michael Chambers. |
Bethel Bible Series
Bethel is an in-depth, two-year study of the Bible. It goes through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, teaching about how God has worked throughout history, the Scriptures, and our own lives. What better way to get to know the Lord than to study the word. Contact Shelly Mack. |
Women’s Bible Study
On Tuesday mornings around 8:30 the halls of our church come alive as a strong group of women fill the library to study God’s word together and be in prayer. They are welcoming and friendly, and any lady is welcome to join their study. Contact Barbara McLean. |
Buildings and Grounds
We have been very blessed with a wonderful facility here at FPCU and even more blessed for the great buildings and grounds committee who keep it up and running. They meet monthly for meetings and every other month for all church workdays. Contact Kevin DeVries. |
Worship Team
The worship team meets every Wednesday night to practice and Sunday morning before worship to warm up. Anyone who would like to lead worship through song is welcome to join the worship team. Make a joyful noise to the Lord! Denise Beckler is the contact person for the worship team. |
Session
Session is the board of elders here at the church. They are elected individuals called by the Lord to serve as spiritual leaders of the church. They meet monthly and each elder is part of a committee in the larger church body. If you have any questions or comments for your session contact Brian Marsh. |
Deacons
Deacons are elected individuals who oversee the caretaking ministries of the church. They are people who have the gifts of service and a huge heart for ministering to others. Myrinda Head is the facilitator of the deacons and would love to hear from you. |
VIPs
(Very Important People) The VIPs are our seventy and over group. They are the strong past that make up this church and the fun present of our spirited congregation. They meet for lunch, a devotion, and short program monthly. If you would like to attend the VIP lunches, or would like to serve, please contact Barbara McLean. |
Nursery
Each Sunday there is nursery for our littlest worshipers. It is hard for kids to sit in worship for over an hour, so the nursery is open to kids from birth through 5-years-old. We have a staff of wonderful nursery ministers who keep the environment safe and fun. Come check it out any Sunday or contact Kelsey Ingalls. |
Sunday School
Our Sunday School ministry meets every week during the second half of worship. The kids start out in worship and are excused half way through. Our dedicated team of teachers is excited about starting a new curriculum this fall. Sunday School is for kids in K-5th grades. Contact Kelsey Ingalls. |
Missions Committee
Our missions committee is a dedicated group of people with a heart for serving the poor, hungry, and ill in our community and around the world. They also keep in contact with and gather support for missionaries that the church supports. Any one is welcome to join the mission committee. The contact person is Kitty Sandelin. |
Office Angels
Our staff of office angels volunteers their time every week to minister in the office of the church and make sure things are running smoothly behind the scenes. They are responsible for keeping us all in line. Contact Denise Beckler to become an office angel. |
Ushers and Greeters
One of the most important things to a new person who is coming to our church for the first time is to have a friendly face greeting them at the door. Our greeters and ushers make sure each person in our church, new visitors or life-long members, is welcomed to our worship service. Contact Brian Marsh. |
Mission Study Team
Our MST is busy taking surveys, compiling information, and trying to uncover the culture of our church. After they are done compiling they will write a mission study, which will help us prepare to a new Head of Staff. The contact person for the MST is Brain Marsh. |
Operation Christmas Child
Each fall our church is part of a wider Christian community who packs boxes of gifts for kids in developing countries, which they receive as Christmas gifts. This precious and meaningful ministry has unquestionably changes Christmas for countless kids throughout the years. Contact Nancy Garcia. |
